Tidal could be described as similar to Reversal Of Man but not without their own unique style. Mixed in with the intense shrieking vocals there are synths, samples of groovy 70s sounding psychedelic music, and words spoken in German behind the main vocals. I first came across this 10" in a record store in Vancouver and thought it looked interesting and after a few listens it quickly became one of my favourite records. Tidal is one of the few bands after the 1990s that really got it right, still had their own sound and didn't blend in with the hundreds of other mediocre post-hardcore bands.
My favourite Tidal release by far is the 10" I'm posting on, however all of their music is great and I hope to own the remaining releases I don't have yet. Another really interesting release is their most recent, very experimental release "Abraxas" however in my opinion their 10" is their most distilled and stylish release. Their 10" really just exudes the bands essence and what they were all about. Despite being a post-hardcore band their 10" just makes me want to tap my feet and move with the music which isn't an easy thing to do with this genre.
