Jaded/Watercolour - Discography (1995-1996)

Jaded was a hardcore band from Indianapolis, Indiana. The band existed from 1995-1996 although the only material they released came out in 1997 after the bands breakup. In the later stages, the band abandoned their "screamo" style and made softer, more melodic music under the name Watercolour. The 1997 Jaded 7" came out on the excellent Witching Hour Records and contains two incredibly impressive hardcore tracks that are filled with angst and energy. I love the mini-zine that comes with this 7" but I have to disagree with their opinions on Shotmaker... If anyone has any unreleased Jaded stuff i'd be very excited to listen to it. For a band that had such a polished sound, two tracks is not enough to satisfy!

Watercolour formed sometime in 1996 and recorded a 6 song unreleased LP supposedly titled "Stories About Old Rich White People", one of these tracks made it to the "An American Tragedy" compilation 7". I found this 7" at a local record store and the Watercolour track immediately stood out to me, so naturally I had to try and find the rest of their material. Watercolour is an excellent representation of the indie/hardcore sound at the time and they made some really awesome, melodic and catchy tracks. I had no idea of the Jaded/Watercolour connection for the longest time, it is interesting that these bands are related as they are both excellent projects that capture completely different sounds that were popular in the hardcore scene at the time.

Member of these bands went on to form Racebannon, which I believe is still active and making music.

If anyone has pictures, live videos or posters featuring these bands; let me know!
