Infind - Discography (1995-1998)

Infind was a four piece hardcore / emo band from Staten Island, New York. They were initially known as Dropjaw wherein they played a few live shows but never released anything. They then switched their name to Filter in 1995 and changed bassists, then switched again to Carbon and finally decided on Infind.

Infind had a diverging sound from the classic hardcore of the New York area, which tends to be on the heavy, "tough guy" side. Infind was a great antidote to the riff-heavy hardcore that was favoured around this time. Their subtle, quiet intros build up to an amalgamation of noise that holds a ton of emotion. Their take on hardcore is influenced by indie rock and "emo" while still remaining very much a hardcore band, with their abrupt shrieks amongst the soft, quiet guitar.

The band continued to play into 1997 despite a couple line up changes. Kevin Devine of Miracle Of 86 played as their guitarist in their last few years. In 1997, Infind played "Way Too Much Music Fest" along with a crazy lineup of great bands including Franklin, Ink & Dagger, Bleed, Converge and more.

In 2006, Infind briefly got back together and added a keyboardist who quit shortly after. The band then changed their name once again to Audiometry. With yet another lineup change, they played shows up until 2014 and released one CD in 2013, available on Spotify. The CD takes a bit of a different route while still being comparable to Infind, it's entirely instrumental.

Big thank you to Tenzin who helped me with most of this info! I will share a link to his blog post on Infind here.
