Bullyrag (AKA Fucking Thunder) was a hardcore band from Phoenix, Arizona, that emerged in 1996. Over their five-year run, the band released some notably polished material. Their early work, characterized by a dynamic blend of quiet and loud sections and a mix of soft and screamed vocals, draws comparisons to bands like Ordination of Aaron. By their 2001 CD, Bullyrag had evolved, drawing inspiration from more intense acts like Shotmaker and Ambassador 990, amplifying their intensity to new heights. Throughout their active years, the band demonstrated a keen mastery of the loud-quiet dynamics that defined the "emo/screamo" scene at the time, making Bullyrag an often-overlooked yet highly ambitious project. I'd highly recommend checking Bullyrag out if you are a fan of the "loud/quiet" emo that dominated the mid 90s D.I.Y scene.
