Twelve Hour Turn - Discography (1996-2002)

Twelve Hour Turn was a post-hardcore/emocore band from Gainesville, Florida who were active throughout the late 90s; breaking up in the summer of 2002. The band's discography includes two 12"s, a split 12" with I Hate Myself, a live cassette, a 7"s, a split 7" with Engine Down, a split 7" with Strikeforce Diablo, a 10" and a demo tape. They also appeared on numerous compilations.

Twelve Hour Turn became known as a staple of the Florida punk scene and No Idea Records and for good reason. They started out as a more thrashy sounding punk band and over the years tightened up their sound a little and evolved into a more post-hardcore / "emo" band.

They are sometimes compared to I Hate Myself both being from Gainesville and having the split together, but to me they aren't much alike. Twelve Hour Turn has an outstanding mix of hardcore, punk and softer more "emo" vocals that mix together wonderfully. They are also vastly different from other popular Florida bands of the time like Reversal Of Man or Combatwoundedveteran. Twelve Hour Turn is far less heavy and fast and has a more refined, intricate sound. Along with so many other great bands on No Idea Records, they stand out as one of the best, especially from Florida.

It's nice to see a band from this time with a substantial discography too, so many great bands had criminally small amounts of released content which is not the case with Twelve Hour Turn. It's always interesting to hear a band's sound evolve over time as well and you can definitely hear that across their discography.

Note: We are missing good quality scans for most of their releases, if anyone can help us out with some better ones we would appreciate it!
