William Martyr 17 - Discography (1994-1995)

William Martyr 17 was an emo/hardcore band from Little Rock, Arkansas who were active for a little over a year in the 90s. The band included Chris Horne of William Martyr 17 and Crown Of Glory. They released one 7", a split 7" with Crown Of Glory, a split 7" with Plunger and a CD including all their recorded tracks.

William Martyr 17 uses a tasteful mix of high pitched, screechy vocals, and softer singing to create a perfect balance of emo and hardcore influences. This band was extremely promising with the content they put out but unfortunately, before they could really find themselves as a band, the drummer Chris Horne passed away in a car accident. The band dissolved into various other projects after this including Hundred Years War. I really love their vocal style and the groovy guitar riffs that seem to get stuck in your head, it's really a shame that the band came to an end so soon.

A compilation 12" was made in honour of Chris Horne's death entitled We've Lost Beauty: A Compilation For Christopher. It includes some of my all time favourite bands and a booklet dedicated to Chris Horne so it's worth checking out as well. I'll leave a link to the rip below even though William Martyr 17 is not on the compilation.
