Ambassador 990 - Discography (1997-1998)

Ambassador 990 was a hardcore band from Ohio. Taking heavy inspiration from the likes of Shotmaker and Spirit Assembly, Ambassador 990 was a post-hardcore powerhouse that perfectly meshed melodic grooves together with heavy, pummelling riffs and shredding vocals. During their time together, they released one 12", one 7" and a split 7" with The Makeshift Conquest.

Ambassador 990 could be described as one of the quintessential 90s post-hardcore/emo bands, at least in my books. They had their sound down to a science, seamlessly melding melodic guitar rhythms and heavy-hitting shrieked vocals. Their music feels like a perfect balance between hardcore and something much more refined and interesting. The work and passion they put into their songs is evident all throughout their discography.

Along with Shotmaker and Spirit Assembly, Ambassador 990 is one of the bands I just keep coming back to. They fit into that perfect middle ground that makes them so easy to listen to no matter what mood you're in or what you're doing. They have a certain catchiness to them that makes it impossible not to at least tap your foot along with their music.

Unfortunately, Ambassador 990 has some unreleased stuff that has yet to surface. Hopefully one day it does, as I'd love to hear more from them.
