Curll was an emocore band from Glasgow, Scotland. This band would have fit right in on Subjugation Records and its a bit of a head scratcher why they weren't on the roster; especially considering how their 1995 ST 7" follows the exact blueprint of many Subjugation bands, both in design and sound. Anyways, on the ST 7" and split 7", Curll had a sound that closely resembled bands like Bob Tilton and Tribute; albeit being more on the Moss Icon side of things, with drawn out stop-start tracks that remind me a bit of the songs on the Memorial 7". The tracks on the Fox 7" are much noisier and harsher, giving Curll a dynamic sound that switched up a bit on each release.
Information about this band is very scarce bar what you see in the inserts. So far I have not found any live videos or show posters, or even blogposts about them. It seems like Curll is one of those bands that has been lost to time and confined to dollar bins around the world. Which is a shame because they had some really compelling tracks.
Curll is the first Scottish band we have featured on the blog, if you happen to know any more mid-90s Scottish emo bands, let us know! They seem to be few and far between.
