Segue - Discography (2001-2004)

Segue was an experimental hardcore/crust band hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota. The band's 2001 7" was released by Primary Thoughts; a label that also put out all of Subtracttozero's recordings (also from Minneapolis), who we previously covered. Despite being an American band, Segue curiously saw numerous European releases for their music. Segue's sound is reminiscent of 90s heavy crust titans like His Hero Is Gone, Uranus, and even Calgary's own Chupacabra. With a consistently powerful and intense style, Segue makes a strong impression right from first listen. Their innovative use of noise adds a distinctive edge, enhancing their already bleak, crusty sound. I also love the inclusion of violin on their 2004 10". It’s clear that the Minneapolis scene at the time had a penchant for experimenting with noise and pushing the boundaries of hardcore. If you happen to have the files from Segue's CDr compilation, please send them my way—I’m still missing them!
