The Party Of Helicopters - Discography (1995-2004)

The Party Of Helicopters hardcore/math-rock band from Kent, Ohio who were active through the late 90s to early 2000s. The band included a member of Harriet The Spy. In their years active, they released a large amount of music with multiple full-length albums, various 7"s, including some splits (with Harriet The Spy, In Ano, S Process etc).

The Party Of Helicopters played rhythmic, mathy hardcore with intensely fast and complex guitar and off-kilter vocals. Pushing the boundaries of what "hardcore" could be, The Party Of Helicopters had a sound all their own. As they went on, their music shifted slightly more toward indie rock or even post-rock influenced at times. Though they never let up with their energy and well-crafted angular guitar riffs.

Their work has often been described as being influenced by both metal and dream pop or shoegaze, the latter of which became more prominent in their later work. Crafting their own unique noisy brand of punk, The Party Of Helicopters left their mark on Ohio, playing shows and releasing music for almost a decade. Ohio's scene was really interesting in the 90s, with boundary-pushing bands like Harriet The Spy, Old Hearts Club and Ambassador 990 to name a few, popping up all over. The Ohio 90s scene remains one of the gems of hardcore/emo in history.
