Senneval - Discography (2001-2003)

Senneval was an emo-hardcore band from Summerville, South Carolina. This band has to be pretty high up on this list of underrated (or unheard?) screamo bands that haven't got their due. I found their 7" in a great collection of emo stuff that was abandoned at Audiopile records in Vancouver. Senneval had a nice mix of melodic and chaotic sounds going on and they excelled at both. Their short discography has some impressive moments of songwriting and technical ability.

The band played with a numerous amount of influential late 90s/early 00s emo bands like Waifle, Funeral Diner and Circle Takes The Square.

There seems to be a demo CD that I am missing, if you have the tracks from this i'd be very grateful to have them sent my way!

Inso Grey - Demo (1996)

Inso Grey was a hardcore band from Kalazmazoo, Michigan. Purveyors of fine Michigan wierd-core; Inso Grey made some seriously impassioned songs. With lyrics that came straight from high school journal pages, vocalist Marisa Cooke projected them into their sound with the utmost emotion and intensity.

You could compare them sonically to Michigan contemporaries Constantine Sankathi, Mainspring and Current but the vocals really remind me of The Lazarus Plot, or the more recent band Journal. All in all they put out a solid seven song demo, with two of those songs going on to grace the Anima Food Not Bombs compilation 12". There is not a lot of material to listen to but its a worthwhile listen nonetheless!

Bev. Clone - Discography (1994-1996)

Bev. Clone was an emo/hardcore band from Grand Rapids, Michigan, who were active from around 1994-1996. They released one EP, a split with Constatine Sankathi and some compilation tracks, all of which were later compiled in a discography release by Council Records.

Members of the band went on to form Agna Moraine's Autobiography, and also had members in Bombs Lullabye and Mainspring

Bev. Clone crafted very catchy, rhythmic, and yet emotional music. Ranging from a moody 90s punky sound to more screamy and heavy at times, they definitely displayed their range. Their songs always seem to get stuck in my head. Their lyrics stand out due to their often repetitive nature, but also their poignant, emotional qualities. "I can't, I won't, I can't take it anymore." off their track, Don't Use Hooks always hits home for me, the frustration at the world and being pushed to your limit is something many can relate to.

Bev. Clone flies a little more under the radar than the members later band, Agna Moraine's Autobiography, but is very much worthy of more attention. Their melodic instrumentals, driving rhythms and punk ethos stand out and are always a pleasure to listen to.

Side note: If anyone knows where their name comes from, please enlighten me, I've always been curious.
