Ivich was a hardcore/punk band from Saint-Maurice, Val-de-Marne, France who were active for most of the 1990s, beginning in 1992 and ending in 1997. In these years they released two demo tapes, a 12" album, a 10" EP, a 7" EP, and two split 7"s, one with Jasemine and one with E 150. They also appeared on 17 different compilations such as Le Garage, Illiterate and Reconstruction to name a few.
Ivich was a key component in the 1990s French emo/hardcore scene and they still stand out as one of the best. Their style was very much punk influenced, with short and fast songs, upbeat guitar riffs and screamed vocals, but what really makes them stand out is their use of trumpets and horns in most of their songs. The horns pair unexpectedly well with the punk guitar riffs and really add something to their style.
Brothers Yann and Yves Maisonneuve of Ivich also formed pioneering French emo band, Vanilla, and both played simultaneously in Ivich and Vanilla.
Ivich has tracks on more compilations than the ones we have downloads for at the moment so this isn't quite a definitive discography post but we will update as we track down the rest of their songs.
