Former Members Of Alfonsín had an intense energy to their sound, which was heavily driven by radical politics and anti-fascism. Their sound is somewhat akin to bands like Bread & Circuits or Torches To Rome, blending half-spoken vocals with loud, aggressive screams. Punky guitar riffs combined with the tense, fast paced energy make Former Members Of Alfonsín very easy to tap your foot to. With their sound and outspoken politics they would have fit in well on Ebullition records.
Former Members Of Alfonsín sounds like they came out of the early to mid 90s rather than late, they have that quintessential emotional hardcore sound that was exploding during the first half of the decade. Their spoken-word vocals could even be compared to Native Nod or similar bands, and their radical, politically driven lyrics make stand out in a sea of bands doing it for questionable reasons.
