Lucas was a hardcore band from Calgary, Alberta. The band marked a stylistic step away from the early-mid 90s Calgary HC scene; from the "emotional" sound that swamped the Calgary scene in the mid 90s, to a more heavy sound that inspired future Calgary bands like Chupacabra and Consumer Identity. Despite the change in sound Lucas was still biting and radically political like their peers in the scene, making some crushingly heavy tracks with excellent lyrics that tackled relevant political topics.
The discography I will link below was remastered from the original DAT tapes at Audio House studios and has not previously been shared online. It sounds amazing and is really worth a listen! A big thank you is due to Todd from the band for sharing the files with me.The 4 unreleased songs (recorded in 1998) were originally meant to be on a split 10" with the excellent Silence Equals from Winnipeg, who sounded a lot like a Canadian John Henry West.
