Julia - Discography (1993-1998)

Julia was a hardcore band from San Deigo, California. The easiest way to describe this band would be to say that they did their own thing. Jeremy, the vocalist, wails out of tune over some of the most impressive, creative and tight instrumentals I have heard in hardcore. While they existed they released four 7"s, one split 7", a 12" album, a demo tape and a few compilation tracks.

Julia toured intensely during their active period, playing shows with important and influential bands like Current, Indian Summer and Groundwork. The band also shared members with the political metalcore band Unbroken. In the years since their demise Julia has inspired new hardcore bands across the globe (especially in Japan) to create challenging, dense and emotional hardcore music.

Julia's discography is extremely impressive and I think every song has the capability to keep growing on you with every listen. One of their most incredible tracks is End off of their self titled 12", I think it's one of the most unique and powerful hardcore songs I've ever heard. It's hard to even compare Julia to anything because they are just so different. They were definitely trendsetters for the D.I.Y hardcore scene but from what I've heard no one came close to sounding quite like Julia.

The pics of the Julia S/T 12" are just from Discogs as our copy has a giant sticker on the front cover, if anyone has some scans of it we'd gladly take them and use them instead!
