The Leadfoot Broadcast was a emo-hardcore band from Southern California. Despite being somewhat of a California supergroup, The Leadfoot Broadcast is hardly documented and rarely mentioned overall. The band featured the former Indian Summer/Sinker drummer Dan Bradley as well as Patricia Kavanaugh, the future vocalist of Blackjackaction and Brian Gathy of Amber Inn, The Shivering and Ribbon Fix fame.
The Leadfoot Broadcast had that quintessential mid-’90s emocore sound that would’ve fit right in on Repercussion Records. Their songs were rough, impassioned, original and driven by that classic stop-start, loud-quiet dynamic. It’s easy to hear parallels with the bands mentioned above, as well as their scene-mates Lumber. Even with just 12 minutes of material on this four-song demo, The Leadfoot Broadcast managed to carve out a distinct identity and secured a place alongside their peers in the California scene.
