Salpetriere was a very short lived emo/hardcore band from Moscow, Russia active for a year in the mid 2000s who released a 7" as well as a demo tape. The band was formed by members of more well known Russian bands such as Ricochet, Monfaucon and Marschak however this project has a distinctly different sound.
Their discography is short, but powerful with its mix of emo influenced hardcore instrumentals and vocals with a distinctly neocrust sound to them. I like all the bands these members were in, all of them each with a slightly different sound and feel, however I believe the Salpetriere 7" is some of their best work. Something about the tracks on both their demo and 7" feel so raw, imperfect but very emotionally charged which to me is what makes any music good.
I haven't been able to track down a copy of either the 7" or demo as of yet unfortunately so the 7" scans will be from Discogs and I don't have any for the demo. The 7" was only pressed 100 times making it hard to come by these days. If anyone has a cleaner rip of the 7" or scans of the demo send them my way please!
