Takaru was a heavy hardcore band from San Fransisco, California. The band shared members with A Days Refrain, Ruhaeda and Funeral Diner. Takaru is hands down one of the most brutal and dark "screamo" bands I have heard, with their full length LP being a genuinely scary record at points. Their sound is equal parts, controlled and unhinged; breaking out into fits of manic intensity at one point while being subdued and melodic the next. I can also appreciate the bands dedication to including lyrics and accompanying write ups about important socio-policital issues that affect them, if you have time, the LP insert is a great read. If you are a fan of heavy hardcore bands like His Hero Is Gone, Converge and Zann; be sure to check out Takaru.
