Guyver-One was an emo-hardcore band from San Diego, California who were active for a few years in the mid-late 1990s. Their discography consists of a self-titled 7", a 12" and discography that was released only digitally in 2008. They also appear on the compilation 12" "I Can't Live Without It".
Guyver-One has a very harsh, heavy sound consisting of loud, chaotic guitar, fast drums and hoarsely screamed vocals. Guyver-One's music is fast and passionate and makes you want to move, dance and writhe around on the floor. The band took its name from the 1991 animated sci-fi film The Guyver, which was based on a Japanese manga series. They sample a part of the film that describes what a "Guyver" is in one of the songs on their 7".
Guyver-One's first two releases were on Inchworm Records along with some of the best punk bands of the 1990s including Shroomunion, Ordination Of Aaron, Indian Summer, and The Sky By Sorella.
