Benchmark - Discography (1994-1995)

     Benchmark was a straight-edge hardcore band from Ft. Smith, Arkansas. (We love Arkansas HC!) The band only lasted for a few years but put out some really killer material that melded the blistering speeds of Assfactor 4 with the in your face chugs of Earth Crisis & the like. The ST 7" is an instant classic and shows some great progression from the more straight forward demo. As with most of the bands that we post, I wish this band had more material but alas. (edit: looks like theres a lost recording called Noah's sessions... I will be on the hunt for this) 

    After disbanding, most of the members of Benchmark would go on to form the excellent grindcore band Burned Up Bled Dry, who are still playing shows to this day!

    The Benchmark demo was a real pain in the ass for me to find, at first I had a demo collector send me a second-gen dub of his copy; but it ended up only having a few songs transferred and in real poor quality. I eventually learned that the excellent Terminal Escape blog had already digitized it! So major props to them, we wouldn't be able to hear this demo or many others without their hard work and dedication.
