In Loving Memory - Discography (1998-2001/Present)

In Loving Memory was a 6-piece hardcore band from Des Moines, Iowa who formed in 1998 when all the members were around 16-17 years old. They underwent various lineup changes over the few years they were active including the addition of Jen Wiley as a second vocalist in 1999.

Their discography includes a 12"/CD/tape, a split tape with Black Market Fetus, a split 7" with Examination Of The..., a reunion 12"/tape and a discography 12".They also appeared on two compilations. The band broke up in 2001 but recently reunited in 2023, releasing an EP and playing shows.

In Loving Memory has an intense, spazzy sound to their music with dual male/female vocals and chaotic instrumentals. Both vocalists have a great scream and the alternating between the two, really makes for an unmatched sound. I'm a huge fan of dual vocals and I'd say this band does it really well. Jen Wiley's vocals in particular are so shrill and intense but not so high pitched it feels gimmicky.

In Loving Memory was known for their incredibly crazy live performances and its evident in just listening to their music how into it the band was. Their influences include Saetia and Jeromes Dream but I think I prefer them to both (controversial I know). The members were all so young when they were in the band which makes me appreciate what they were doing and how well the did it even more.
