Chain To Thread - Discography (1993-1994)

    Chain To Thread was a hardcore band from Trenton, New Jersey who were active for around a year in the 90s. Their discography is scarce with just a demo tape and a split 7" with Bleed. Most of the band's members were also in Mouthpiece simultaneously and continued in the band after the split of Chain To Thread. Members also played in Flagman, Crud Is A Cult and Ink & Dagger. 

    Chain To Thread goes from a thrashier, more fast-paced sound on their 1993 demo, to a slightly more refined post-hardcore sound on their split with Bleed in 1994. Even with their limited discography Chain To Thread displayed its versatility in sounds and styles throughout their releases. Unlike Mouthpiece, Chain To Thread embraces the so called "emotional" hardcore that was breaking out at the time but was still very disliked by many. 

    The tracks on their demo are surprisingly well played and catchy. The band clearly really knew what they were doing and were confident in their style and sound. If they weren't already solidified enough in their demo, their tracks on the Bleed split seem to be even more clearly defined. They are overall a great and often overlooked band and I would have loved to hear more from them.
