1.6 Band - Discography (1991-1993)

1.6 Band was a hardcore punk band from Holbrook, Long Island, New York. They were active from 1991 when they played their first show in someone's backyard until 1993 when they split and members went on to play in other bands including The Crownhate Ruin. Their discography consists of a 12", a split tape with Scapegrace, three 7"s, including a reunion 7" in 2010, a split 7" with Rorschach, a demo tape, and a discography CD containing their collected works. They also appeared on a few compilations.

1.6 Band had an interesting sound, they mixed punk, post-hardcore and a touch of the emo sound making its way through the 90s. They used sharp, jagged guitar riffs like in the surprisingly catchy track "Pushing Shit Back Into My Ass" and complex drum parts that drive the songs forward. They're a band that have fun with what they're doing, they don't take themselves too seriously and neither should you. That being said however, they sure did play incredibly well together. Their songs are always getting stuck in my head and you can't help but tap your foot along to them when you hear them.

They could be compared to other bands like Merel or Assfactor 4 but they really did have their own sound. Not quite as emo as Merel and not as heavy as Assfactor 4 but somewhere in the middle that really stands out. 1.6 Band is one of my favourites to listen to when I want to hype myself up or when skateboarding because their energy and fast pace is just so contagious.

If anyone has scans for their releases that I don't have, please send them my way!
