Twenty Seven Hours was a screamo band from Wilmington, North Carolina. With roots in the more thrashy and noisy punk bands of the time, the band played extremely fast paced and loud hardcore, with each member of the band contributing vocals.
The band formed in 1996 as An Imitation Of Life and recorded a demo tape, but it didn't take long before they changed names. The band recorded a demo pretty soon after changing names. Soon after the demo their bassist and their singer, Sam and Philippe, left the band. The band continued on for about a year after that. Recording a handful of songs by themselves on 4-track, and some more at Seth Moody's Baby Ace studio in Wilmington. Those were the tracks that would end up being released on a number of different releases, the first being their song "Exchange" on the A Tradition Of... 7" compilation released by the drummer, Jason, on his own Fall Records label in 1996. Later that year they did a split 7" with The Republic Of Freedom Fighters from Victoria, BC which was released on the same label. 1997 marked their last two releases which were the songs "Coaxial" and "Dear You" which were featured on the Ape Records compilation LP Israfel and a Food Not Bombs benefit CD compilation.
You can download their short discography here. All ripped in the highest quality from the original vinyl/CDs. It features the songs released on the three compilations and the split. I've got a trace on the early demo tapes. Whenever I can get those, I will update the link.
