Age was a emotional hardcore band from Wolfsburg, Germany who were active for a few brief years in the early 1990s. While active they released a 12" album and a 2x7" before they split up and members went on to form Rusty James and Assay.
Age was unbridled, experimental and incredibly intense. My favourite material from them has to be the 1994 LP, with great tracks like Blocked showcasing the talent of the band. Their music is hard, fast driven and filled with passion that you can hear on every one of their tracks.
You can definitely hear the similarities between Age and Rusty James, however I think I prefer the more raw, unfinished sound that Age has. Rusty James is perhaps more polished and distinguished but there is something about Age that feels really genuine and I appreciate that.
