Age was a emotional hardcore band from Wolfsburg, Germany who were active for a few brief years in the early 1990s. While active they released a 12" album and a 2x7" before they split up and members went on to form Rusty James and Assay.
Age had a sound very akin to other German hardcore from the time, however something about is it is a little softer, not in the sense that it has less anger or passion, but in the sense that you can really feel the raw emotion behind it. A lot of German hardcore can be very aggressive and heavy but lack the real feeling behind the screams, this is not the case with Age. Their music is hard, fast politically driven and filled with passion that you can hear on every one of their tracks.
You can definitely hear the similarities between Age and Rusty James, however I think I prefer the more raw, unfinished sound that Age has. Rusty James is perhaps more polished and distinguished but there is something about Age that feels really genuine and I appreciate that.
