I Am Heaven was a hardcore band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They had a sound similar to the other bands in the Pennsylvania scene at the time (Seraphim, Elements Of Need etc) and featured Eric Warehiem of Tim & Eric fame. I Am Heaven had a more introspective and dynamic sound than their peers; they traded intensity for mood and instrumental interplay, creating a very dark atmosphere for their songs. They could be compared to Hoover but I honestly think they stand on their own, as an incredibly groovy and interesting band.
The band released a demo in 1995 and then broke up before they could officially release their 1997 12". It has remained mostly un-distributed with the Julyninetyfive label owner still having a large stockpile. Because of this the presentation of the LP is very bare bones, it is just housed in a stock 12" single sleeve with some rare copies coming with the odd insert or picture taped to the front.
