Eucharist was a crusty hardcore band from Richmond, Virginia who were active for a few brief years in the mid to late 1990s. They only ever released one 12" LP and were featured on a few compilations; including a 7" compilation that featured Charles Bronson, In/Humanity and Palatka. One member, Mark Telfian was also in Limp Wrist and Devoid Of Faith among other hardcore bands.
Eucharist's sound is very heavy with noisey gutiar work, hoarse vocals, fast-paced thrashy drumming and a touch of metalcore influence. They could be compared to Struggle, His Hero Is Gone, Sawhorse or Monster X; but they definitely stand out on their own despite their small discography.
I personally am not a huge fan of metalcore even if its just a hint of it, but Eucharist really just gets it right. It feels like the perfect combination of classic, fast and heavy 90s hardcore with a twinge of metalcore to make it that much heavier. All the while bordering on the edge of the "emo" hardcore scene with some slower guitar riffs at times.
