Howard North was a hardcore/noise band from Montréal, Canada who were active from around 1993-1995. They only ever released one 7" but they also recorded an unreleased album. They played lots of shows in Montréal including ones with Shotmaker, Polvo and Don Caballero during their active years.
Howard North's sound is a mix of math-rock inspired riffs, hardcore vocals and tons of noise and distortion. You can hear some DC art core influences in their music as well; smiliar to bands like the No-Gos and Monorchid. Their sound is really distinct and they played some impressive shows so it's too bad they have such a small discography and are relatively unknown. One of the guys from Joule put us on to this band as a former member is his current neighbour. Hopefully this post shed a little light on them and gets some people to check them out because they're worth it!
