Sleepytime Trio - Discography (1994-2002)

Sleepytime Trio was a post hardcore band from Harrisonburg, Virginia. Sleeptime Trio were active from 1994 onward; the band began as a side project of Maximillian Colby members Drew Ringo and Ben Davis, along with Jonathan Fuller. After the death of Bob Baynor, the band a full-time band rather than a side project. David Nesmith joined as guitarist in 1995, they then toured the states and Canada. Their discography consists of two 7"s, a split 7" with Four Hundred Years, a 12" EP and a compilation CD including their discography plus live tracks.

Sleepytime Trio has an incredibly tight, well put together sound that never wavers in its complexity or perfection. Unlike a lot of punk music, their music lacks the messy, chaotic feel and instead opts to execute every last chord precisely and powerfully. This band really knew what they were doing. You can definitely hear the Maximillian Colby similarities as they were another band who really had every last part figured out sound wise, but Sleepytime Trio somehow feels like a matured version of the former.

Sleepytime Trio is definitely one of the more musically talented bands of their time, no hate to the less rehearsed punk bands out there, they have a place in my heart. However I definitely respect bands like Sleepytime Trio and Maximillian Colby for just being so good at what they did. You can hear how much they cared and how much practice and work went into their music.

As always, if you have higher quality scans of any of these releases to send them our way.
