Ordination Of Aaron was a short-lived, but influential hardcore band from Kalamazoo, MI who existed for just a couple years in the 1990s. In 1994 the band toured extensively mainly in Michigan, surrounding states and Canada. Their discography includes a 12", two 7"s, a split 7" with Indian Summer, and a compilation CD which was later redone with a slightly different tracklist as a completed works CD. Then years later, the completed works CD was pressed on vinyl as well. The band also appeared on various compilations such as All The Presidents Men and Amnesia.
Ordination Of Aaron definitely walked the line between hardcore and "emo" with their rhythmic instrumentals and mix of softer whiny and loud screamed vocals. They definitely fit in with bands like Indian Summer with their mix of very quiet, soft parts which crescendo into louder and heavier parts. Ordination Of Aaron was also notably influenced by classic rock; having a sound that reminds me a lot of the UK hardcore/emo scene, particularly bands like Fabric.
Some of the band's members were also in The Sky By Sorella, Closer and Broken Hearts Are Blue which all lean toward a more indie rock style, but don't lose the "emo" edge that Ordination Of Aaron perfected.
